About me
Coach Albert Mato is a dedicated leader and former standout athlete with a deep passion for the game of volleyball. A Loara High School alum, he played a key role as both a Setter and Libero, earning First Team All-League honors as a Setter for three consecutive years. His leadership on the court helped guide the team to three CIF appearances in four years, including two second-round runs during his high school playing career.
As a coach, Albert has continued that success—leading both the Girls and Boys Volleyball programs at Loara High School to CIF playoff appearances, including a second-round finish with the girls team. Known for his strategic mind, he serves as a Defensive Specialist and Offensive Coordinator, using his expertise to maximize player development and team performance.
Coach Mato's philosophy is built on persistence, growth, and self-belief. As he often tells his athletes:
“Keep trying, because at some point you will be able to do it—and better than you expected.”
His mission is clear: to empower young athletes to reach their highest potential, on and off the court.
