About me

Coach David Lucio brings a deep passion for the game and years of proven experience to Elevation Elite. A proud Anaheim native and Anaheim High School alumni (Class of 2011), Coach David has dedicated his life to volleyball—both as a standout player and a dynamic coach.

After graduating high school, David went on to play at Fullerton College as a libero, where he earned the title of Best Defender of the Year for FC, solidifying his role as a defensive leader on the court. His playing career set the foundation for his coaching philosophy, which focuses on grit, discipline, and high-level technical training.

Over the past decade, Coach David has made his mark throughout Southern California volleyball:

• Assistant Varsity Coach at Anaheim High School for 5 years, helping guide the team to multiple CIF appearances since 2015, including two semifinal finishes.

• Specialized as a Defensive Specialist Coach for 4 years, helping athletes master back-row strategies and elite-level ball control.

• Serves as a GMS-certified coach, implementing data-driven and efficient training methodologies used by top programs around the country.

• Head Coached 17s and 18s teams in the past, consistently building competitive teams and developing college-ready athletes.

• Led his team to victory as SCVA Gold Division Champions in 2022.

Coach David’s dedication to elevating athletes both on and off the court makes him a respected leader in the volleyball community. He continues to mentor young players with the same passion and integrity that fueled his own journey—from Anaheim High School to Fullerton College and now to coaching excellence at Elevation Elite.
